Editing Should Be a Conversation
I believe the best editing often happens through direct collaboration between writer and editor.
Whenever possible, I prefer to read a manuscript aloud with its author, either in person or online. This allows us to discuss questions, explore ideas, and refine the writing together in real time.
Rather than simply returning a marked-up manuscript, I enjoy working directly with writers to preserve their intentions while strengthening clarity, structure, expression, and impact.
Of course, traditional independent editing is also available for clients who prefer that approach.
The best writing often emerges from a thoughtful conversation.
